Aveshka is seeking a Sr. Management Analyst (Editor/Writer) to support ASPR’s Communications Branch, within the Office of the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The ASPR strategic communications team provides an array of communications support services, including communication planning, stakeholder communication, web communication, graphic arts, videography and media relations. During emergency operations, works with communication counterparts in state and other federal agencies under Emergency Support Function 15 (ESF-15) to coordinate messaging and media interaction to ensure members of the public have the information they need for decision making.
The Sr. Management Analyst (Editor/Writer) will be responsible for helping advance the ASPR mission of public health preparedness and emergency response via Public Health Preparedness and Emergency Response Communications, Strategic Stakeholder Engagement (Congress/States & Local Government/Industry/Inter/Intra-Agency), and general Program and Project Support.
- Leads technical writing and editing of deliverables
- May supervise additional writers/editors and analysts
- Provides advanced analysis for deliverables to government client
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with immediate team members and stakeholders across the organization.
- Responsible for writing clear, succinct, reader-friendly web content for different target audiences and performing necessary updates to social media.
- Work with programs across the organization to clarify writing objectives, create actionable information, edit and organize content and develop professionally appropriate language for the web.
- Responsible for editing complex and “text heavy” material, making it more concise, compelling and engaging for end users. Subject includes but is not limited to material related to medical countermeasures and first responders.
- Extract appropriate information from existing client-supplied technical information as well as interviews with stakeholders.
- Edit and re-write portions of technical content and write original content as needed.
- Perform basic graphics editing and make edits/tweaks to stock photographs
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with immediate team members and stakeholders across the organization.
- Edit and format documents in accordance with appropriate specifications and branding.
