Position Summary:

Moving Consultants are responsible for managing all tasks related to providing prompt, accurate and competitive rates to customers.  The position requires strict attention to detail, the ability to work with others and/or independently, under pressure, in a time sensitive environment with superior communication skills.


Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, normally.  Weekend work could be required periodically.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and create rate quotes in a timely manner.

  • Check data entered for accuracy and completeness.

  • Communicate with Dispatch and Operations to schedule shipments.

  • Keep up to date contact list to assist when outside rates are needed to complete a quote.

  • Maintain rate base and fuel surcharge fluctuations.

  • Follow up on all sales leads.

  • Know all aspects of pricing within each quote.

  • Other Duties as assigned.


Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong phone presence and experience dealing with a high volume of calls per day
  • MS Word, Excel & Outlook, and other computer systems are critical (typing min. 50 wpm)
  • Must be able to communicate with a positive team mentality at all times, both written and verbal.
  • Prioritizes work assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Follow up skills to make sure problems and/or issues are resolved effectively
  • Take initiative and is self-motivated to accomplish and achieve results
  • Willing and able to work with all personality types, with a professional, helpful manner.
  • Adapt to new processes quickly and streamline current processes as necessary
  • Analytical ability is desired.


Language Skills:

English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.


Reasoning Abilities:

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of in-house and customer situations in a positive and professional manner.


Education and Experience:

  • College degree or minimum 1 year of experience in administrative support, customer service, or related supporting field
  • Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of transportation/Household Good industry helpful
  • Ability and desire to perform well in a fast-paced, fluid environment where tasks change quickly.

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop and reach with hands and arms.

  • Prolonged periods of time entering data into the computer.

  • Handling multiple phone lines.

  • Prolonged periods viewing a computer monitor.
  • Fast paced, with multiple aspects of attention required by management, co-workers and customers.
