Dev Ops Engineer                                       

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Dev Ops Engineer maintains, supports, and develops internal and external software and hardware infrastructures to support our client. This position also creates and deploys software releases into various environments as well as responding to general server support issues. This position reports to the Manager of Dev Ops.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Maintain the integrity of a variety of platforms, environments, and sites, through proactive and reactive administration in dedicated, cloud and virtualized environments
  • Work with technical team members to identify requirements, architect solutions, implement/update solutions, build server environments, and triage and fix operational issues
  • Manage multiple environments on physical and virtualized hardware
  • Develop error-free build packages and deploy them according to process
  • Monitor and report out environment health of various systems for further action
  • Respond to internal and external ticketing systems
  • Develop technical document for various DevOps areas
  • Help maintain formal processes for data security and compliance, gather technical  evidence
  • Maintain and support all company standards as specified within the Quality Management System
  • Supports/facilitates the mandatory adherence to ISO9001 requirements, processes and procedures
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

  • Must have ability to maintain confidential information; have strong ethics and integrity
  • Understand of basic IT development practices (requirements, specifications, documentation, building, deployments, QA, migration)
  • Experienced in performing system engineering, analytical, and problem solving activities using critical thinking and structured problem solving techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, positively influence team members, establish and maintain excellent internal relationships, and deliver positive results
  • Ability to think analytically, solve practical problems, and carry out responsibilities under general supervision

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Internet Information Server (IIS)
  • Familiarity with the Linux command line
  • TCP/IP network fundamentals
  • Configuring hosted and cloud based environments
  • Familiar with GIT and SVN repositories (push, pull, commit, branching, tagging, etc)
  • Strong in at least 1 programming language (VB, C#, Java, etc.)
  • Implementing build workflows with a repository and deployment with continuous integration using Jenkins
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management tools (Puppet/Chef)
  • Familiarity with logging/monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of multi-tier application architectures
  • Knowledge and experience of working with and/or developing APIs (REST, SOAP, Json, XML, SAML, oAuth, etc.)
  • SysOps or DevOps Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Com Science, related discipline, or 6+ years in appropriate working level/environment experience with the same knowledge base
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Have physical and mental requirements to meet the above listed job responsibilities
