Software Asset Manager

Position Description 

The Technical Support Resource for Software Asset Management is a proven resource who has extensive experience in asset management. The candidate will have the ability to care for software auditing to support an acquisition. This candidate will need to coordinate with teams to successfully drive results. Auditing Licensing entitlements and auditing software installations. 

Job Responsibilities 

This position will be accountable for asset management. 
 

• Gather all of the license entitlements 
• Gather all of the software installation data 
• Check for any TRIAL/DEMO versions of software 
• Check for softwares that are being accessed via Remote Access/VPN/Citrix 
• Filter out the softwares that have been found installed on machines used for Development, Demo and testing purpose 
• Compare every product installation count to its corresponding license entitlement 
• Develop report of shortfall/excess per product 
• Adjust excess licenses in accordance with the licensing terms of the software 
• Perform reconciliation efforts, data normalizations and integrations within ServiceNow Asset 
• Perform data validations on Discovery tools, SCCM and ServiceNow and other data sources 
• Data reconciliation between various data sources to ensure consistency of all data sources 
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity of the asset data 
• Develop and schedule reporting to be utilized for asset reconciliation 
• Manage preparation and distribution of pre-defined ad-hoc reports related to asset 
• Participate in federal and internal audits and remediation as it relates to asset 
• Conduct book-to-floor and floor-to-book physical inventories and audit of assets 
• Create incidents, for issues identified in ServiceNow related to the Asset 
• Create enhancements or demands for improvements or modifications 
• Collaborate with IT Standards and End User Computing enabling software products in the ServiceNow Self Service Catalog 
• Review ServiceNow Ariba Purchase Records and record purchases to the appropriate software model 
• Review all software procurement routed to SAM workflow via Ariba (escalating and adding IT Standards to Ariba workflow as appropriate) 

Qualifications 

• Certification and experience in IT operational standards such as ITIL v3 preferred 
• Ability to gather and convey information to stakeholders 
• Ability to influence change across a matrix organization and collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver solutions 
• Experience with processing software licenses associated merger or acquisition activities 
• Needs to be self-motivated and willing to learn details of software asset management processes and tools and encourage team members to do the same 
• 7+ years’ experience working in Information Technology 
• Understands how the IT group operates and how his/her role meets customer needs and creates value
