Description

General: The Construction Administrator assists with the construction administration phase.


Requirements: Equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering or seven years construction administration experience.


Responsibilities/Skills:
 Assists with Construction Administration activities on projects, monitors project for construction document compliance.
 Assists with establishing project procedures, problem solving activities, budget reviews and certification needed.
 Initiates document revisions, project reviews and processes changes orders.
 Oversees test reports.
 Assists with the preparation of punch-list and close-out procedures, and performs post-construction services and investigations as needed.
 Good communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
 Should be a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).
 Additional duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS FOR ADVANCEMENT TO:
 Construction Manager
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)) in the following areas:
 Ability to coordinate projects.
 Demonstrate a firm understanding of construction administration.
 Capable of anticipating questions and/or identifying inconsistencies.
 Demonstrate successful decision making and problem solving abilities.
 Proven communication skills.
 Must attend seminars and/or course to keep up to date with areas involving construction management.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, able to work under time constraints, long hours may be required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Overtime (40+ hours) may be required as needed.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to handle stressful situations, multi-tasking, and working within reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets. Will work in normal office environment and may also be required to work outside of a normal office from time-to-time.
