Career Evolutions is searching for a Chief Financial Officer for a Private Equity owned manufacturing company headquartered in Chicago, IL. Full-time position with compensation up to $200,000 + Bonus + Equity.

You will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial and tax reporting functions as well as the operational reporting functions to provide value-added insights for Executive Management and the Board of Directors about process improvements to assist and determine the best course of action for all operational matters. You will also provide management and oversight to the company’s general administrative functions and certain business critical regulatory compliance and reporting functions.
Job Responsibilities:
OVERALL – Provide leadership and coordination in performing the current financial & tax accounting, budget development, monitoring and management, and operational reporting.
STRATEGY & PLANNING – Coordinate a detailed annual strategy and planning process and preparing operational budgets, preparing business plans and pro-forma projections for new business opportunities, and develop and maintain a system for accurate planning and forecasting.
POLICIES & PROCEDURES – Define, control and enforce accounting policies and internal controls.
MANAGEMENT REPORTING – Maintain and develop relevant operating reports and metrics and counseling management and the Board of Directors on financial strategies to optimize company performance.
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS/METRICS – Create and integrate business metrics to accounting and reporting systems and performing continual analytics to aid business decisions.
RISK MANAGEMENT – Manage the annual renewal and audit procedures associated with the companies various insurance policies (Workers Comp, Property, etc.) and ensure proper accounting treatment for various insurance policies.
FINANCIAL/MANAGEMENT REPORTING - Ensure timely preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and loan compliance certificates and direct the execution and management of financial reports to management and the Board of Directors.
ERP/ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE CONVERSION – Work together with management to implement an ERP system expected to be fully implemented by the end of the year.
CASH MANAGEMENT – Manage all cash management/treasury activities
MANAGERIAL AND SUPERVISORY – Daily supervision of a team.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, MBA preferred
CPA (Big 4) highly desirable
5+ years of experience in Controller / CFO positions in mid-sized organizations in the manufacturing industry
Previous experience working in a Venture Capital / Private Equity environment, ideally serving as a financial leader in a portfolio company
Hands-on experience preparing financial statements, forecasts, budgets and financial reports
Experience building and managing an accounting/finance department
Experience implementing integrated software systems, dashboards and internal controls
Excellent leadership skills in creating analytical tool,s as well as, key ratios and metrics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
