Tech Lead
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage business demands to ensure maximum satisfaction, and to maintain quality over quantity
- Ability to strategize and provide proof of concept to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy
- Supervise activities between internal and external resources, and facilitate smooth workflow for successful delivery
- Possess a combination of both problem-solving and innovation skills to address several technical production challenges
- Experience in implementing changes to previously designed software to meet client demands and specification
- Experience in interacting and exchanging ideas with members of the team in a bid to arrive at good designs and solutions to jobs at hand
- Experience with Waterfall, Agile and iterative development methodologies desired. Thorough experience on software development methodology & worked on all the phases of software development life cycle, which includes system study, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation
- Remain knowledgeable of current technology and carry out research to identify new trends that can be used to achieve maximum results
- Identify and escalate project issues/risks in a timely fashion to the upper management
- Capable of providing quicker solutions to technical/logical issues
- Monitors the progress of the OAE development and Operations, informs the team of its progress and provides them with support and direction
- Give training and mentorship to team members to make them better on the job
- Be up to date with current field practices to enhance service standards and delivery
- Participate in defect triage and work with project team/vendors to resolve prioritized defect fixes
- Ensure that the applications are successfully transitioned to sustain with proper documentation such as Runbook/Playbook etc.
Strong Technical Background:
- Worked on Design and Development of Enterprise web/internet based Applications using Oracle Apex.
- Ability to build applications with email notifications, web services, file uploads/downloads, pivot tables.
- Experience with setting up and implementing Single Sign On for OAE applications.
- Hands-on experience with installation and configuration of OAE APEX 4.2.x or higher platforms along with patches, hotfixes and configure with LDAP and other tools/technologies and build APEX applications. Hands-on experience with Oracle APEX 4.2.x and higher versions.
- Experience in migrating applications from lower to higher versions.
- Experience in Oracle 10g/11g/12c, PL/SQL, SQL
- Good knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
- Experience in writing SQL queries, Views, PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, triggers, Dynamic SQL. Experience in developing External Tables, Joins, cursors and sequences
- Experience in using PL/SQL Wrappers to protect the PL/SQL procedures and packages.
- Experience in using several built-in database packages such as DBMS_JOB, DBMS_OUTPUT, UTL_FILE, DBMS_SCHEDULER and DBMS_SQL etc. Should have extensively worked with third party tools like SQL Developer or TOAD
- Experience in reverse engineering tables to physical data models.
- Wide level of work experience in creating new modules (involving Pages, Packages, Reports) using Oracle Application Express (APEX).
- Extensively worked on creation of complex SQL queries as part of Reports generation.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with Oracle Application Express (OAE)
- 8+ years of experience in Oracle 11g/ 12c and performing advanced scripting using PL/SQL
- 5+ Experience with the Oracle Application Express framework
- 5+ Expertise in designing, debugging, coding and maintaining Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), HTML, JavaScript, Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) code
- Ability to reverse engineer code
- Experience with APEX 5.0 a plus
- Experience in Hosted Instance and Workspace Administration:
- Create new Workspaces
- Manage Existing Workspace
- Exporting / Importing Workspace
- Manage application express Users
- Manage Services
- Managing Schemas
- Managing applications
- Manage workspace DB privileges
- Manage workspace to schema assignments
- Manage instance settings - Email, Wallet, reporting
- Debugging and Troubleshooting including tracking and resolving problems in this multi-layer environment
- Coordinate and assist with upgrades, patching of OAE and DB
- Coordinate with Application server maintenance
- SSL certification maintenance
- Database and application audit
- Experience with source code control with SVN or similar.
- BS and 10+ years in a technical role or equivalent; development experience required
- Ability to work independently or in a team, solving complex problems in an ambiguous environment
- Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to software development.
- Extensive breadth of experience delivering complex technical projects within budget and scope
- Ability to think critically and develop high quality project deliverables and ensure technology solution meets requirements
- Knowledge of the software development process (iterative, agile and waterfall)
- Ability to understand the complex programs in software development
- Knowledge of enterprise platforms and operating systems is a must
