IT Windows Engineer

Conexess is looking for an IT Windows Engineer for our client in Southfield, MI In this critical role you will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and support of the Microsoft Active Directory environment. The position will be part of a team of engineers with experience in various technologies:  Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, ADFS, Exchange, Lync and mobile device management. The candidate will be expected to assist in the implementation and maintenance/troubleshooting of our global Microsoft Active Directory platform. The individual must be a proven self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks with very little supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Data Center Team to deliver business critical projects and maintain high levels of service, supporting 25+ sites globally
  • Ensure that deliverables are produced within the planned budget and timeframe
  • Analysis, testing, documentation, implementation and support of global data technologies
  • Perform all required operational maintenance and troubleshooting of supported systems
  • Evaluate and test software changes and updates supplied by vendors, prior to installation
  • Work with vendors, application developers, database administrators, corporate IT, and other technology groups to resolve any problems
  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of all supported systems to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and requirements
  • Maintain proper change management documentation for all hardware and software modifications
  • Participate in standardizing account management, entitlement provisioning and work with stakeholders to update corresponding governance, risk management, and compliance policies
  • Maintain, support, troubleshoot and optimize Active Directory services such as Group Policy Objects 
  • Maintain and support basic Exchange requests (distribution lists, delegates, etc.)
  • Report progress to supervisor, including the preparation of weekly status reports
  • Tier 2 and 3 troubleshooting and manage calls/tickets from the Help Desk group
  • Ensure routine preventative maintenance and license compliance is performed
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field (preferred) or the equivalent in training and experience.
  • Able to understand and troubleshoot Active Directory : Directory Services
  • Able to understand and troubleshoot Active Directory : Federated Services is a plus
  • Able to understand and troubleshoot Active Directory : Certificate Services is a plus
  • Able to understand and troubleshoot Windows integrated DHCP and DNS servers
  • Able to understand and configure Group Policy Objects to secure a Windows infrastructure
  • Project management experience is a plus
