Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of hardware and/or software project support experience
  • Expertise and experience with hardware integration into production systems
  • Expertise and experience with software and/or operating system solutioning for production systems
  • Experience in project planning
  • Takes pride in accuracy and timeliness of work while appreciating feedback, discussion, and iteration
  • Ability to travel 5%

Nice to have:

  • Experience with POS software systems
  • Understanding of retail store environments


Job Description:

The Lead Specialist – Retail System Engineer works within the Global IT Store Ops groups and cross-functionally with other IT and business groups.  They have responsibility for prescribed technical projects, continued technical innovation, and both internal and external partnering for IT systems involved in Point of Sale and other core store functions.  This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Participate in hardware and/or software projects aimed at retail or back of house business problems or requests
  • Lead discovery activities to understand technical requirements and technical constraints of new technologies
  • Create, present, and document complex technical solutions
  • Lead and deliver demos, trials, and proof of concepts to peer IT groups, IT leadership, or business partners
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal IT and business partners to ensure proper communication and integration of new initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with 3rd party vendors to maintain current solutions and/or provide innovative potential solutions for store systems
  • Establish and execute a continuous improvement framework for store technology usage
  • Lead or participate in store technology lifecycles ensuring non-business impacting transitions
  • Assist or consult in the integration of Internationally required hardware into POS systems
  • Partner with QA for alignment on new or modified testing needs related to changes to store technology
  • Design and participate in knowledge transfer sessions around new initiatives for IT teams such as Support, Operations, International, QA, or Development
