Description

General: An Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting their assigned Project Manager in the planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, and financial outcome of assigned construction projects. The ideal candidate will be required to assist their assigned Project Manager in coordinating all contractual requirements and project specifications.


Requirements: An Assistant Project Manager shall have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the Architectural/Engineering or Construction Industry. This position requires an understanding of building construction methods, techniques and applications.


Responsibilities/Skills:
1. Maintaining records and logs (including, but not limited to phone, drawing, sketch, contact, etc.).
2. Developing, monitoring and evaluating reports
3. Developing and following a look ahead schedule
4. Preparing and archiving meeting minutes
5. Assist in providing full Construction Administration services (i.e., construction site visits, preparation of field reports, processing change orders, shop drawing review, request for payment form review, warranty information, and project close-out).
6. Participating in subcontractor or owner meetings
7. Other duties as assigned.

 Proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast paced environment.
 Superior communication and organization development skills.
 Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams.
 Proven client contact/relationship building skills.
 Understanding of “customer service” principals and basic ability to implement.
 Demonstrate firm core values (i.e., Honesty, Trustworthiness, Integrity, Loyalty, Humility, Family and Respect for others) in professional and personal life.
 Future PMP, CCM and/or CEM certification to advance into senior management path.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, able to work under time constraints, long hours may be required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Overtime (40+ hours) may be required as needed.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to handle stressful situations, multi-tasking, and working within reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets. Will work in normal office environment and may also be required to work outside of a normal office from time-to-time.
