Our Client is the leader in thermal technology, they design, develop, and manufacture heating, cooling, and ventilating devices for diverse global markets.

SUMMARY:
Design, develop, validate and launch Thermo-electric based Thermal Convenience products such Cool Bins and Cup Holders

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

 

·         Review customer SOR’s (Statement of Requirements) and Technical Specifications

·         Develop design based on customer and/or internal specifications and requirements

·         Ensure design is completed in accordance with industry standards in a safe, cost efficient and timely manner

·         Create and maintain APQP documents (DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM, GD&T, drawings, etc.)

·         Lead design reviews in a team environment for the design feasibility

·         Support manufacturing reviews for optimization of manufacturing processes

·         Direct and coordinate all phases of product development cycle including prototype builds, functional, environmental and electrical testing, specifications and others APQP documentation updates

·         Support test lab for validation testing

·         Actively support engineering development meetings, program launches with customer & internal teams

·         Develop and support engineering presentations for program specific technical issues for internal and external customers 

·         Work closely with external suppliers to ensure technical requirements are met on time within cost targets

·         Continuously improve product designs and internal processes to increase customer satisfaction

·         Benchmark competitor’s products for comparison and improvements

·         Develop new Intellectual Property (IP) to safeguard designs and to review competitors IP for possible infringements

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

·         4 years or more automotive experience (automotive interior system a plus)

·         Working knowledge of 3D CAD software (IDEAS, Catia, Pro-E, UniGraphics, etc.)

·         Demonstrated competence in the design of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems

·         Experience with automotive plastic resins and molding process is highly desirable

·         Familiarity with automotive project management experience (knowledge of APQP process a plus)

·         Proven record of accomplishment with product development that launched into high volume production, good communication and business relations skills

·         Hands on experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)  & Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFA) Software (highly preferred)

·         International travel required (5%) and after hours meetings (with Asia and Eurpoean teams).
