Title: Sr. IT Systems Engineer (Production Automation experience with PowerShell)

Job Description/Summary: 
The Specialist – IT Systems Engineer works within the Global IT Store Ops group and cross-functionally with other IT groups.  They have responsibility for IT systems involved in Point of Sale and other core functions.  In this area, these Engineers will focus on:

• Integrating new and existing IT initiatives into operational frameworks and tools.
• Lead or participate in platform level IT solution design and implementation
• Creating tooling and/or automating processes to enable more efficient work for Operations teams, Support teams, and Developers
• Consulting development teams for operational considerations of software design
• Participating in the operational grooming of store software pilots
• Analyzing systems and processes to identify and implement value add improvement opportunities
• Leading or participating in the triage and resolution of critical, high visibility system issues
• Consulting international counterparts in best practices for platform design and operation
• Training other IT teams how to use the platforms and tools efficiently

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
• 5+ years in IT system automation and system design
• Expertise and experience in production automation with Windows PowerShell
• Expertise and experience in Windows production system design
• Experience with Jenkins or other continuous integration tools
• Experience with PowerShell DSC or other Infrastructure as Code frameworks
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure and operations best practices
• Takes pride in work while appreciating feedback, discussion, and iteration
• Ability to participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
• Ability to travel 5%

Nice to have:
• Experience with Splunk or similar log analyzers
• Experience with software deployment tools such as Octopus Deploy
• Knowledge of DevOps concepts

Questions from the Hiring Manager

How proficient do applicants need to be with PowerShell on a scale of 1-10?  7+

Will this position be supporting any other aspects of infrastructure? (AD, Exchange, etc..?) Or is this a pure shellscripting/devops role?  Shellscripting/DevOps.  No AD, Exchange, etc.

How much Splunk experience is need? Implementing? Just maintaining?  None REQUIRED.  Power users are nice to have.

Jenkins? What other integration tools can applicants have experience with? What if applicants have no integration experience at all?  If no integration experience at all, we could entertain it if everything else was in order.  Other integration tool examples (Atlassian Bamboo, CircleCI, Eclipse Hudson, GitLab CI, JetBrains TeamCity)
