Description

General: An Architectural Graduate II is responsible for design and production of architectural construction documents under the supervision of a Project Architect/ Technical Manager/ Sr. Project Coordinator including design, set up and coordination of the documents, based on standard architectural practices and applicable codes.


Requirements: An Architectural Graduate II shall have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an architectural firm. This position requires proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT and/or Micro station, an understanding of architecture and building construction, knowledge of codes and an understanding of their interpretation.


Responsibilities:
 Run projects with minimal oversight.
 Design and produce construction documents and specifications.
 Complete designated scope of work within allotted time budget.
 Delegate, review, manage and accept responsibility for work of Architectural Technicians, College Interns and Architectural Graduate I working on the team.
 Manage with minimal assistance, the permitting process, including response to comments for architecture and consultants.
 Manage with minimal assistance, the bidding procedures and provide administrative assistance and minor field assistance with Construction Administration.


Skills:
 Research and apply applicable codes, limited interaction with code enforcement agencies.
 Coordinate with engineering disciplines, including running a kickoff meeting.
 Receive and assimilate project information from the Project Manager and/or the client.
 Work with Project Manager to provide appropriate level of customer service.
 Good communication skills, both written and verbal are required.


REQUIREMENTS FOR ADVANCEMENT TO:

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)) in the following areas:
 Complete IDP requirements.
 Licensure.
 Ability to coordinate a group of projects.
 Capable of determining and producing drawings/details required in order to communicate with contractor.
 Demonstrate a firm understanding of building codes.
 Capable of anticipating questions and/or identifying inconsistencies in the documents.
 An understanding of all stages of the process, from programming to construction administration.
 Associated knowledge of engineering disciplines to create ability to do full building site surveys.
 Demonstrated successful decision making and problem solving abilities.
 Proven communication and leadership skills.
 Awareness of and ability to apply customer service tenets appropriately.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, able to work under time constraints, long hours may be required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Overtime (40+ hours) may be required as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to handle stressful situations, multi-tasking, and working within reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets. Will work in normal office environment and may also be required to work outside of a normal office from time-to-time.
