PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Associate Application Developer should be passionate about code quality and software excellence, with extensive experience with Java/J2EE.  Associate Application Developer will be responsible for delivering high quality features in a collaborative setting and individually with little oversight. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

1. Participate in design reviews of other team member’s features
2. Produce high quality code to meet feature requirements
3. Present feature code for review
4. Participate in code reviews of other team member’s features
5. Suggest code improvements
6. Research and suggest new technologies
7. Assist in the trouble-shooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues throughout the entire product lifecycle
8. Work with other team members at the architecture, design, and code-levels to ensure standards-based, high-performance systems
9. Perform all work in accordance with company’s quality programs, standards and procedures
10. Maintain safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

1. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are paramount
2. Demonstrated knowledge of advanced JavaScript
3. Demonstrated knowledge of object oriented design and development
4. Direct, hands-on experience with at least one of the major JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, Dojo, Prototype, or of node.js or Rhino)
5. General experience with PDF tools, creation and manipulation
6. Familiarity with XML data parsing, namespaces, XSLT transformation and using Xpath for data access
7. Familiarity with standard development IDE such as Eclipse or RAD/WSAD
8. Basic understanding of RDBMS structures and SQL queries
9. General proficiency with standard MS Office Tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
10. Ability to work independently under general direction, as well as the ability to work within a team to meet common goals
11. Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
12. Must have the willingness to take initiative
13. Must be detail-oriented and process focused
14. Must be results-driven and willing to apply additional effort when required to meet commitments
15. Must be effective in prioritizing tasks and responsibilities
16. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment with competing demands

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

1. B.A./B.S. in Math, Electronic Media, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field
2. 1-5 years work experience, but we will train the right resource
3. Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of the typical PDF specifications is desirable
4. Familiarity with Acrobat Professional, Adobe Form Designer, and/or PDFlib PSP tools is desirable
