Description

Cuhaci & Peterson is seeking a Project Architect to join its growing team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of experience within the restaurant sector, excellent presentation skills (including public speaking), freehand sketching and experience working in a fast paced, team oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead, utilize and direct Architectural Technicians and Project Coordinators, as well as ensure that Cuhaci & Peterson quality standards are met throughout the project
  • Capable of moving a program forward by managing external and internal teams.
  • Assist in providing full Construction Administration services including construction, site visits, preparation of field reports, answer RFIs, process change orders, shop drawing review, review/approval of contractors’ Request for Payment forms, gather lien waivers/warranty info and project close-out.
  • Oversee the production of construction documents and specifications for multiple projects within varying programs. This may include performing research, planning, design, document preparation, administration and inspection of projects.
  • Sign and seal projects.
  • Assists in initiating and coordinating with engineering disciplines.
  • Resolve design issues and answer questions regarding projects. This may include attending client meetings or representing the client’s interests at public hearings, as needed.
  • Perform peer review quality control reviews and/or obtaining peer review of documents.
  • Assist in setting up project timeline, budget, permitting process and completing designated scope of work within allotted time and budget.
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing owner revisions, RFIs and jurisdictional review comments.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, answering RFIs, bidding (including contractor qualification), bid document preparation, bid evaluation and contract negotiation.

Requirements:
 

  • Licensed architect
  • Ability to mentor, lead and teach.
  • Record of success in managing projects thoroughly, accurately, on time and within budget.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and generate multiple solutions.
  • Well-developed understanding of the overall building design process, from the initial conception through construction.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and team building skills.
  • Results oriented; Proactive; Able to prioritize.
  • Customer Service focused.
  • Adaptable
  • Overtime (40+ hours) may be required as needed.
