Description

A coveted Personal Injury Law Firm seeks a Managing Attorney to join their dynamic team! This position is housed in NEW HAVEN COUNTY.

This position will oversee the performance of a team of attorneys to ensure cases are handled in compliance with standard operating procedures and applicable legal requirements.

You will conduct file reviews, lead, coach, and develop attorneys. Timely address performance deficiencies. Communicate and support the firm’s goals and strategies. Provide effective and timely communications, information, and legal advice to clients and team. Participates in projects or initiatives as needed.

· Conduct scheduled file reviews to ensure SOP compliance, case value analysis, case progression, and proper attorney assignment

· Utilize established metrics to review, analyze, and address KPIs

· Support and drive efforts to increase ACF and reduce case cycle time

· Manage and hold accountable all team members for adherence to statute of limitations, notice deadlines, client contact, and litigation deadlines if applicable

· Review and edit substantive documents drafted by the attorneys as appropriate

· Review demands and facilitate demand production

· Conduct performance reviews for Attorney Team members

· Coordinate attorney coverage

· Function in a liaison capacity for case transfers within practice areas

· Actively participate in attorney meetings and maintain positive, productive interaction among team members

· Track settlements and verdicts by carriers to utilize bad faith, CUIPA and CUTPA.

· Assists in client service issues as needed

· Perform administrative tasks

· Conduct seminars for staff, medical groups, or student groups

Qualifications

· Juris Doctorate with admittance to practice in Connecticut and in good standing with the bar.

· 5+ years of leadership experience including performance management

· Proficiency in phases of litigation

· Effective negotiation skills

· Critical thinking skills

· Professional written and verbal communication skills

· Effective organization skills to manage time, meet deadlines, and function in a fast-paced environment

· Social awareness and positive interpersonal skills to build relationships with a diverse group of people

· Proficient in using various computer applications to manage and analyze information and reports
