Accountant/Bookkeeper – First Century Bank

First Century Bank is looking for a full time Accountant/Bookkeeper to join its team at its Commerce, Georgia location.  This individual will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Team to ensure that daily, monthly transactions are balanced and reconciled.  Individual would specifically perform the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
1. Performs daily balancing in the following areas:
● Loans
● Mortgage Loans
● Lines of Credit
● DDA and Savings
● CDs and IRAs
2.  Perform Holding Company GL Reconciliations on a monthly basis.
3.  Financial institution Month End DDA and General Ledger reconciliation. 
4.   Ensure all items have been properly approved
5.  Analytically review information for anomalies, inconsistencies, or exceptions.  Ensure no overdrafts and escalate issues as needed.  Assist Accountant II with information necessary to contact client or processor as necessary.
6.  Prepare and file balancing documentation, so that audits may be effectively and accurately performed.  According to company policy, forward documentation to record retention as appropriate.
​​​​7.  Work with loan/deposit operations to resolve exceptions within 3-5 days of identification of exception, if possible.
8.  Perform reconcilement of internal DDA accounts on a monthly basis.
9.  Post daily and monthly journal entries, including entries from other accounting staff members
10. Prepaid account reconcilement.
11. Printing daily reports for accounting staff as needed.
12. Provide backup to Accounts Payable function as necessary.  Also back up daily “Due From” Account reconciliations.
13. Performs such other duties as may be assigned or which inherently or logically belong with the position.
