Conexess Group is aiding a large healthcare client in their search for a Network Security Architect in a remote capacity. This is a long-term opportunity with a competitive compensation package.

  • Ensure security requirements, standards, and reference architectures comply with security policy and technical standards
  • Application of best practices for the following: IPS, IDS, Managed DDoS, Email Gateway, AMP, Anomaly-Based Intrusion Detection, Signature-based Intrusion Detection
  • Utilization of SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms for enterprise-wide monitoring
  • Ensure system security needs are designed and built for operational effectiveness, and support deployment of security processes and technologies
  • Provide security consulting, recommend policy or strategic direction on a global scale and with attention to detail
  • Determine security capabilities, gaps/overlaps, and opportunities for optimization
  • Daily management of a large and complex security initiative across multiple platforms, networks and/or applied security technologies, with successful and timely completion of all project deliverables
  • Communicate project issues and status in concise, accurate, and professional manner for leadership consumption, escalating blocking issues as appropriate
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related discipline. 10+ years of solid, diverse work experience in IT, or the equivalent in education and work experience, and 8+ years of work experience in a security discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of information security principles, theories, and concepts
  • System hardening concepts and techniques expertise, including but not limited to: IPS, IDS, Managed DDoS, Email Gateway, AMP, Anomaly-Based Intrusion Detection, Signature-based Intrusion Detection
  • Advanced knowledge of security architecture concepts (ex: Defense in Depth, Zero Trust Security), centralized logging solutions, authentication systems, and data protection and privacy
  • Advanced knowledge of the following technologies: Gigamon, Fortinet, Palo Alto, CASB, MWG, Zscaler, Arbor, Secure Message, ThreatInsight, StealthWatch, Cloud Web Proxy, NetScaler, QRadar, Checkpoint
  • Working knowledge of LDAP, Unix, Active Directory, Linux, Web Application Servers
  • Advanced knowledge of Virtualization technologies (VMware, VLANS, Hypervisors)
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and analysis of tools (example: tcpdump)
  • Extensive knowledge of VPN/Firewall and other security protocols
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills necessary to interact with leaders and teams across all levels of the organization
  • Advanced knowledge of secure communication between environments
  • Security certifications (CISSP, SSCP, CASP+, Security+, CEH, GSEC)
  • Expertise with security frameworks (NIST 800-53, CIS 20, NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISO 27001)
