Description & Requirements

The Network Engineer provides phone support to a wide array of customer environments in a Managed Services environment. This person will be responsible for addressing support tickets that are generated for a customer's environment and will be expected to see the issue through to resolution. This person will be responsible for addressing a large number of tickets daily while maintaining a high level of customer service.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Network Engineer
  • LAN/WAN network support experience
  • Must have experience in supporting and troubleshooting Windows Server environments, both physical and virtual
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidate must be able to have a flexible work schedule but typically work 8AM-5PM CST
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in a call center or MSP environment is preferred.
  • The following certifications are preferred: 
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE, MCITP)
  • VMware VCP
  • Cisco CCNA
  • Experience with Dell hardware and software, such as Dell Servers, Equallogic SANs, and AppAssure, is preferred.
  • Experience with WAN technologies, including Cisco routers and switches, is preferred.
 
Essential Functions
  • Provides phone support to customers relative to networking technology.
  • Support of Server Operating Systems ranging from Microsoft Windows Server 2003 - 2012.
  • Support applications and peripherals on servers including tape backup hardware and software, email software, anti-virus software, etc. 
  • Support current network operating systems on new or existing devices and/or communication equipment including routers and switches.
  • Corresponds with customers and other divisions within the company to insure all customer concerns and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
