We are working with a dairy manufacturer in Bristol County, MA that is looking for a strong leader that will scale and grow their business. This role will oversee operations & maintenance while ensuring quality assurance compliance. This is an ideal role for a candidate with background in dairy and looking for a step up in their career!  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily production operations & plant maintenance
  • Must be a hands-on manager (visible in on production floor for 50% of work day)
  • Monitor quality of product on a regular basis in conjunction with production and mix staff
  • Oversee compliance with GMPs and SSOPs
  • Inspect production equipment in regular intervals to ensure that equipment is being cleaned and sanitized property
  • Generate long term plans for production schedule in consultation with General Manager to fulfill inventory requirements on a timely basis
  • Monitor raw materials for allergens when planning the production week and schedule to avoid cross-contamination with other products
  • Process special orders and co-packaging requests from customers and/or customer service
  • Coordinate ingredients and packaging requirements with General Manager to ensure items are available to meet production schedule
  • Maintain the facility and equipment in good working order, to provide a safe working environment
  • Monitor downtime and to avoid/minimize unplanned down-time
  • Review daily production sheet/information
  • Responsible for ensuring facility is secure at the end of production shift
  • Coordinate and assist with state and federal agencies on inspections

Required Skills/Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of management experience in a food manufacturing environment. Dairy ideal, experience with perishable products is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to provide support, communication, direction, and real-time feedback to direct reports
  • Great understanding of food handling procedures and regulations
  • Ability to set, work towards, and achieve aggressive KPI goals
  • Experience owning quality, efficiency, and scheduling a workforce
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles including 5-S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Tech savviness; comfort with data analysis and proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets
  • Working knowledge of relevant Employment Law and OSHA/HACCP/GMP/SSOP/FDA/3rd party GSF/Food Safety
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
