We are working on a newly created role that within a growing organization that will lead the Project Management team. This position is based outside of Boston, MA. The Director of Project Management is responsible for coaching, developing systems and processes that will streamline the stage gate experience.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Active in developing leadership skills of team members
  • Hire, train, coach and provide feedback to Project Managers
  • Drive development of company project management team, develop PMO systems, tools, metrics and reporting
  • Apply project management best practices in the development, planning and execution of projects
  • Leads & directs the disciplined governance & planning processes
  • Execute the state-gate process across company for innovation, renovation, sourcing and value engineering projects
  • Leads senior management project management meetings
  • Establishes & tracks KPI’s
  • Manages the portfolio of projects at a strategic level, produces accurate and timely reporting of program/project life cycle.
  • Identify & implement improvements in the development process and tools based on lessons learned
  • Act as liaison to foster a culture of collaboration across all cross functional groups
  • Manages the relationship between company leadership and project management team – consistently identifying opportunities for synergy


Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):


  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • PMP certification is preferred
  • Must have stage gate experience
  • 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Past experience and strong understanding of the CPG industry is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, also including the ability to present business information in a group setting
  • Highly developed facilitation skills
  • Able to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments
  • Past experience building teams and developing people
  • Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Able to adapt in a changing work environment
