Project Manager, Engineer
Summary:
We are working with a food processor in the Midwest outside of Madison, WI that is looking for a Project Manager. This role is responsible for providing corporate wide project management services. Please apply if interested!
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Lead and collaborate on company capital projects to deliver projects on time, on budget and executed successfully
- Coordinate project management with plant operations, quality, safety & contractor management
- Develop project budgets and timelines for capital projects
- Establish list of energy & sustainability saving opportunities to include in the capital budgeting process each year
- Maintaining & supervising project schedules & contractors to ensure timely completion
- Review & recommend project changes that will minimize capital costs and ensure projects remain within budget
- Coordinate with operations to minimize downtime
- Conduct research and prepare feasibility studies relating to the improvement of production methods and the improvement/replacement of production equipment
- Work with safety, QC, and regulatory to ensure sanitation and regulatory requirements are met when developing engineering plans during construction
- Solicit competitive bids from approved contractors and select contractors to perform functions of each project
- Coordinate with Plant Managers and other Operations Management to solve production related problems
- Working in one or more of the following areas of expertise: construction, mechanical/electrical, or production & plant operational equipment
- Daily travel out and back 75% of the time and overnight up to 20% of the time
Required Skills/Qualifications (including but not limited to):
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- 3-5 years of related job experience in the food manufacturing industry
- Proficient with Microsoft Application & AutoCAD
- Past capital improvement project experience
- Able to speak effectively to management and vendors concerning production service improvement issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
- Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in math or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Must develop and maintain good working relationships with plant management, operations, maintenance and all facility related functions
- Knowledgeable in building structure & design, waste water design, electrical design, plumbing & mechanical
- Able to locally travel up to 75% and do over night stays around 20%
