Director of Sales – Strategic Channels 

 

Position Summary:  We are looking to fill a Director level national sales role with a gluten free food manufacturer in the northeast that has experienced consistent growth. Our client is looking for a creative, detail oriented individual. This role requires proven success in sales in the food CPG industry and must live within commutable distance to Westchester County, NY. Please apply if interested!

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify market dynamics, pricing trends & new customer opportunities within club, traditional grocery and convenience
  • Lead team customer planning, optimize distribution, and manage trade budgets
  • Lead business planning meetings with customers & potential customers to establish business objectives
  • Determine optimal path to market
  • Understands consumer and customer insights that can develop into go to market plans (includes sales/trade communication, selling strategy & materials.)
  • Develop solid customer relationships with key decision makers
  • Identifies highly specific SKU/Brand opportunities within strategic channels
  • Provides forecast input to Finance and Operations
  • Coordinates with Accounts Payable to manage all trade spending
  • Coordinates with Marketing on presentations, sales materials and new item samples

 

Required Skills/Qualifications:

 

  • 7+ years of sales experience in a food CPG environment is a must
  • Experience in strategic channels with specialty/natural/organic channels is ideal but required
  • Effective and timely communicator
  • Exceptional leader with strong cross functional skills & ability to build relationships
  • Strong influencer; able to motive and inspire
  • Proven history of driving execution and develop strategies
  • Understands trade investment performance dynamics
  • Able to balance cross functional concerns and customer demands in an ever-changing market place
  • Superior organization and time management skills
  • Able to collect data, analyze and draw effective conclusions
  • Able to travel as needed
