Career Evolutions is searching for a Controller for a PE owned manufacturing company in Phoenix, AZ. It's a full-time, direct-hire opportunity paying up to $125,000 + Benefits.

As the Controller, you will be will be responsible for directing the accounting functions, staff and systems including preparation of monthly closes, ERP changes, new implementations, assisting with the budget process, financial forecasts and reporting variances for the company.

Managing a team of 5+ employees and reporting directly to the CFO, you will work with the team to ensure timely and accurate monthly closes. And, you oversee the activities of the disbursement department, manage and coordinate with HR, and oversee the activities of the accounts receivable (AR) department. You also manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable (AP), cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, general and entity accounting, cost accounting, and other day to day functions.

You will coordinate the preparation of the financial statements, budget and financial forecasts. You manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. And establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data. And you prepare financial report and statements to assist management with the necessary information to make financial decisions for the organization.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA is a required, MBA a plus
  • 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience working in a private equity owned middle market company preferred
  • Prior experience at a Controller or Accounting Manager level for an organization with multiple locations and managing a team of 3+ employees
  • Prior Audit experience is required as well as a thorough knowledge of GAAP
  • Prior hands-on experience working in accounting and ERP systems, i.e. SAGE, Dynamics, etc.
  • Demonstrated success in producing timely and accurate financial statements and reports
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, creative and presentation skills
