Job Scope:

Heavy equipment operators control specialized machines used in construction, maintenance and operations. They may run excavators, loaders, cranes, pile drivers, graders and industrial trucks. While working with others, they often use hand signals or radios to coordinate movements.


Required Skills:

MUST have experience with operating an EXCAVATOR, SKID STEER, & BULLDOZER (1 year minimum preferred)
Knowledge of reading blueprints can be helpful
MUST have experience with CUTTING GRADE
MUST have experience operating equipment around pipe (Drainage, sewage, etc...)
MUST have pipe laying experience (1 year minimum preferred)
MUST have CONSTRUCTION background (1 Year Minimum)
Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Good verbal and written communication
Experience with cutting trenches/slopes

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Ability to coordinate with pipe crews while working inside trench or trench boxes.
Will be required to lay pipe for underground storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
Communicate with concrete and/or pipe crews to accomplish task
Perform daily checks on equipment
Ability to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Must be able to perform any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts / move and grade earth, position pipe, erect structures from the ground, move materials around the project
Inspection of the machinery before and after to ensure that it is in good working condition. If upon inspection, some defects or issues are found, the operator will report them so that they can be addressed appropriately.
Loading and unloading the cargo and moving it from point A to point B.
Following safety, processes to ensure the quality of work.
Rendering regular repairs and maintenance as needed.
Reporting more serious defects for repair by an authorized service provider.
Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately


Physical Requirements:

Qualifications

5+ years experience estimating or field experience commercial light civil, Commercial landscaping, or site construction projects

Ability to read, interpret, and analyze civil/ landscape/site plans and specifications
Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software such as Aspire, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Excel, or similar

In this role, the incumbent will be expected repair HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and complete carpentry tasks while adhering to preventative maintenance schedules.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will use hand-tools, power-tools, and metering devices to complete repairs, as well as install and remove lighting and electrical components for various functions. The incumbent will also complete assigned work-orders, report issues to the supervisor, and follow safety procedures.
JOB DUTIES:
&middot;         Utilize hand tools, power tools, and metering devices to perform maintenance and repairs on equipment and government buildings.
&middot;         Repair HVAC systems and follow preventive maintenance schedules for government buildings.
&middot;         Conduct plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other general repairs as needed, ensuring maintenance schedules are followed.
&middot;         Install and remove lighting and electrical components for various events and functions, under the direction of the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.
&middot;         Complete assigned work orders and report any additional issues or required repairs to the supervisor. &bull; Adhere to departmental safety procedures at all times.
&middot;         Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

&middot;         Leadership Skills: Must be able to work closely with colleagues to ensure that repairs met quality standards and promote an adherence to safety protocols.
&middot;         Time Management: Must be able to manage time effectively to complete assigned work orders and to address additional issues or required repairs promptly.
&middot;         Analytical Skills: Ability to identify issues quickly and determine the best course of action for repairs or maintenance.
&middot;         Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate clearly to report problems or repair needs, follow instructions, and collaborate with team members and supervisors.
&middot;         Organizational Skills: Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks to ensure all work is done efficiently while meeting safety and quality standards.
&middot;         Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and metering devices for building maintenance and repair. Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Basic math skills for calculating materials, measurements, measure areas and volumes, convert units, use ratios for mixing, and perform electrical calculations for installations and repairs.
 
Qualifications: 
&middot;         High school diploma or GED certification required
&middot;         Required to work emergency events.
&middot;         Minimum of 4 years experience in building maintenance or construction.
