About the job:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manufacturing Maintenance Manager will serve on the Operations Leadership Team and will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving all machines, equipment and tooling. As a “working manager”, the Maintenance Manager will both define and execute preventative maintenance protocols, with outside supplier support as required.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnose problems in production machinery and equipment, and recommend corrective actions
  • Repair and maintain machinery and equipment in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings, operations manuals and manufacturer specifications
  • Work with engineers/operators to observe, test and evaluate operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunctions
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs
  • Examine parts for defects, such as breakage and excessive wear
  • Repair, replace, adjust and align components of machinery and equipment
  • Clean and lubricate parts, equipment and machinery per PM accordance
  • Run repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic and PLC issues
  • Provide direct oversight, guidance and training to first and second shift technician team

Qualifications:

Along with having a team player mind set, a positive work ethic, and a passion for problem solving, we’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in a world class manufacturing environment
  • Extensive understanding of and experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics to effectively detect and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical components. Must also have the ability to read machine drawings and control schematics
  • Troubleshooting experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and electronic components (motors, ball screws, spindle heads, gearboxes, pumps, cylinders and hoses). Must also have experience using schematic diagrams to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits
  • Knowledge of and experience with alignment and calibration of machines, and creating & maintaining maintenance reports and logs to tasks performed
  • Experience with industry standard safety rules and guidelines as stated in various safety-related training programs, including but not limited to: lockout/tag out, electrical code safe practices and confined space entry programs
  • Process validation and process control experience is a plus
