The highly-experienced individual selected for this position will focus on both high level strategic initiatives as well as optimizing and administering daily HR operations for our West Michigan based, 230+ employee facility. With product found in the oval office of former presidents and showrooms in eight cities including New York and Los Angeles, Scott Group Studio has established themselves as a brand of quality and service.

With intentions to continue to grow and a commitment to our people and culture, Scott Group Studio is seeking to fill the newly created position of Human Resources Director. As the champion of organizational culture, the Human Resources Director will establish accountabilities in areas of talent acquisition, employment processing, compensation, benefit administration, training and development, safety, succession planning, employee relations and employee retention.

What You Will Do:

  • Be a part of the leadership team that drives strategic HR for organization-wide initiatives.
  • Work with leaders, managers and employees to establish and maintain a positive and team-focused work environment that promotes retention.
  • Implement and facilitate an effective talent management system.
  • Develop financial strategy for pay and benefits by understanding trends, requirements and the current market.
  • Champion culture initiatives for the organization to provide a welcoming environment for all employees.
  • Maintain state, federal and local compliance as it pertains to personnel matters.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or similar field, with a preference for a Master’s in Business Administration
  • Experienced HR professional with a minimum eight years of experience leading a human resources function.
  • Skilled communicator with an ability to build consensus and buy in.
  • Experienced in employment law, with knowledge of other states and how their laws differ.
  • Excellent ability to build relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
