Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities (GAAH) is a non-profit organization cultivating creativity and promoting academic achievement in the Grandville Avenue neighborhood. GAAH operates the Cook Arts Center and the Cook Library Center. Cook Arts Center provides access to a variety disciplines. Programs celebrate the diversity of the neighborhood. They help to unlock our students’ creative potential, allowing a chance for talent to find its foothold. Our programs provide experiences that help shape positive self-identities and promote self-awareness and social intelligence. Cook Library Center is a community resource focused on literacy and intellectual development. Our services and programs help meet many needs and interests of residents in the neighborhood. The Library is a safe place for discovering the pleasures of reading and learning. We are currently looking for a new CEO to lead the overall strategic and operational leadership of the organization.
The CEO provides leadership, strategy and direction toward the achievement of Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities mission, vision, values, goals and objectives by working with the Board of Directors and acting as liaison between the Board and staff employees. This position requires high-level collaboration, influencing, and communications skills to achieve high performance. In addition to driving programs and controlling expenses, the CEO is expected to participate in and provide leadership across the organization, while improving our capabilities and performance with all constituencies. Candidates should have experience or a demonstrated passion for working with diverse communities, an appreciation for the arts in advancing educational equity, and community engagement. We are looking for a new leader who can balance the internal management responsibilities with the external visibility that is vital to achieving the strategic goals of Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities.
Qualified candidates will need at least five years of demonstrated success in staff leadership, fundraising, partnership development and financial management, preferably within the non-profit sector. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Work, or applicable field of study. MBA or similar advanced degree with experience in leadership non-profit positions highly desired. Experience or a demonstrated passion for working with diverse communities, an appreciation for the arts in advancing educational equity, and community engagement.
