Founded in 2013, NxGen MDx is a pioneer in advanced genetic screening that helps families get a good start in life by delivering best-in-class science, unrivaled accuracy and personal genetic counseling.  Our dynamic, high-growth laboratory and customer service divisions are located in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a national sales team positioned throughout the country. We are looking for a Medical Science Liaison to be the face of science to our external and internal stakeholders. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based genetic counseling position responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key genetic experts and building a well-informed advocacy base for NxGen MDx’s products. The MSL acts as a scientific ambassador by providing accurate and updated clinical, scientific, and medical information to clinicians, researchers, payers, and other healthcare professionals.  The MSL also supports NxGen MDx’s sales and marketing teams.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Enjoys the thrill of being on the go, supporting our sales force to build bridges between prospective clients and our state-of-the-art diagnostic services.
  • Has a master’s degree in genetic counseling, ABGC certification, and at least two (2) years of women’s health experience. Previous clinical background and/or genetic counseling experience and laboratory experience preferred with an excellent knowledge of the genetic landscape, diagnostic market and therapeutic developments.
  • Acts as a liaison between health care prospects, Key Opinion Leaders from the obstetrics and genetics communities as well as other relevant healthcare professionals, and NxGen’s sales team by providing accurate and updated clinical, scientific, educational and medical research information. Strategically cultivates and develops existing relationships with clients.
  • Uses scientific experience and professional verbal and written communication skills to provide effective clinical presentations to internal and external audiences. Has the ability to speak eloquently about the details of relevant diagnostic tests.
  • Identifies and communicates key clinical and research issues and insights from industry leaders to appropriate departments to help shape company research, development, and strategies for investigational and commercialized products.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for internal departments including marketing, sales, and the laboratory. Identifies internal educational needs and recommends medical education support strategies. 
  • Participates in new test development by applying clinical expertise to the design of new assays and corresponding educational/marketing materials.
