Due to organizational growth and an endless commitment to our people and culture, Wolverine Building Group is seeking to fill the newly created position of Human Resources Director. The highly-experienced individual selected for this position will focus on both high level strategic initiatives as well as optimizing and administering daily HR operations for our West Michigan based, 140+ employee construction company.

The individual selected for this position will have the opportunity to utilize their professional experience and creativity to shape what human resources will look like at Wolverine Building Group moving forward. What You Will Do:

  • Lead the creation, revision, administration, coordination and evaluation of all areas of Human Resources for the organization including total rewards, recruitment, talent management, risk management and organizational alignment and engagement.
  • Champion inclusion and diversity initiatives for the organization to ensure policies, practices and culture to provide a welcoming environment for all employees.
  • Maintain state, federal and local compliance as it pertains to personnel matters.
  • Work closely with managers, directors and executives as they implement human resource programs and initiatives day-to-day.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced HR professional with a minimum six years of experience leading a human resources function.
  • Possesses a SHRM-SCP certification or an eagerness to earn certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Skilled communicator with an ability to build consensus and buy in.
  • Excellent ability to build relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Strong belief in collaboration and a belief that diversity of thought leads to innovation and superior results.
