Regional Coordinator

Are you a health care professional in Northern Michigan looking to use your skills and experience in a new and exciting way? The Region 7 Coordinator for the Healthcare Coalition of Michigan works closely with emergency departments, the emergency medical services system, pre-hospital agencies, outpatient facilities and hospitals to ensure proper planning and communication in the event of public health emergencies.

You Will Spend Your Day:

  • In cooperation with the Regional Medical Director and the Regional Board, developing programs and strategies to improve hospital, EMS, Medical Control Authority and other healthcare organizations readiness for disaster situations.
  • Collaborating and coordinating activities with local, regional and state emergency management and public health systems.
  • Developing and implementing communication strategies between regional entities and the State of Michigan.
  • Leading needs assessments and developing of educational plans around exposure risk and effective responses.
  • Assessing, developing and facilitating training and education for a variety of health care professionals.
  • Developing and preparing a wide variety of reports and information.

What You Bring to the Position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Nursing, Public Administration or health care related field.
  • 5+ years of professional healthcare/EMS experience.
  • Experience in disaster preparedness is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and comfortable in an environment with quickly shifting priorities.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Enjoyment for working autonomously, as well as with others in the office, at the State, in EMS programs, with boards, and in ambulatory settings to efficiently accomplish objectives. 
  • Ability to proactively lead situations.
