Our scientists and methods produce best-in-class results and our genetic counselors help patients and their healthcare providers understand those results. Our headquarters and laboratory are located in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a national sales team positioned throughout the country. With our growth, we are seeking an Insurance Billing Manager with a strong billing background who can determine best practices surrounding the insurance process and help our patients fully understand benefits available to them when selecting our services.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Will act as the primary liaison between NxGen’s laboratory and our third party billing agency
  • Will have a deep understanding of insurance plans, carriers and billing systems. Can interpret explanation of benefits and how it applies to our services.
  • Participates in the process improvement of our insurance methods as our company and product line continues to grow
  • Will ensure great customer service over the phone by providing direct patient financial counseling regarding our genetic carrier screening tests.
  • Will recommend alternative sources of payment and financial assistance by explaining payment options and collection procedures to patients when needed to contribute to the sales process
  • Participates in the enrollment of eligible patients for financial assistance
  • Collaborates with the customer service team to develop this new insurance service

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Drive. You’ll be working towards stream-lining our processes across both billing and customer service. We need someone who’s willing to dive into the details to make important decisions.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with five (5+) or more years of previous experience in medical billing. A solid understanding of medical terminology is required.
  • Highly detailed, with a strong focus in recording data accurately.
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality.
  • Knowledge and previous work in a CRM (i.e. SalesForce, Zoho, etc.) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Drive to work hard and have fun doing it!
