Are you passionate about the importance of diversity and global engagement?  Does creating and designing cutting-edge online learning programs energize you?  The Cultural Intelligence Center, an innovative, research-based consulting and training company is seeking a Digital Learning Manager at our Grand Rapids, Michigan location to create, design and manage the online learning and development programs. 

Primary responsibilities for this full-time position include leading the development of online learning programs and growing our capabilities by providing innovative online learning experiences for our clients. You will be a key contributor to the organization’s success by creating value for clients and by aligning our online digital learning programs to our clients needs.

The Cultural Intelligence Center (CQC) is a small (but growing!) company that is changing the way individuals and organizations are approaching diversity and global engagement. Our assessments, training programs, and consulting services are valued by clients from Harvard University, Goldman Sachs, and the Department of Defense, to many small and medium sized businesses. Based in Michigan, our international team of employees includes trainers, consultants, and researchers providing state of the art services that make a real difference in people’s lives.

How you will spend your day:

Manage Online Programs and Resources

  • Oversee all online learning materials and content from conceptualization to implementation
  • Work with segment leaders and clients to conduct needs assessment and design online programs and resources to address needs
  • Select and oversee vendors to assist in curriculum development (writers, designers, etc.)
  • Conduct systematic evaluation of online courses
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and address user-reported issues

Design and Produce Online Products

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and managers to develop content.
  • Develop, write, and edit online materials including learning objectives, lesson plans, lesson content, and assessment tools.
  • Design and/or manage graphic design of all online courses and related materials
  • Supervise production of all online programs and resources in a variety of formats, including print, audio, video, and animation technologies.
  • Supervise and manage production of the Company website, newsletters, and other online products.

Support Blended Learning Modalities

  • Coordinate online products with other products and services of the company (face-to-face training, certification, consulting, assessments, books, etc.)
  • Assist as needed with design and development of other curriculum (e.g. face-to-face training, certification programs, videos, etc.)


What we will need from you...

  • Masters degree in instructional design or related field preferred
  • Extensive experience in online, instructional design in a diversity of contexts (corporate, nonprofit, government, etc.)
  • Experience designing content for a diversity of learners (learning styles, ethnic/national diversity, students and workplace professionals, etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theories, assessment and evaluation methods, and online versus face-to-face learning modalities.
  • Familiar with leading innovations in online education including gamification, virtual reality, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, familiar with Adobe Creative Cloud Products, experienced with Adobe Captivate or similar authoring products, and familiar with learning management systems such as Moodle, Blackboard, BBLearn, Canvas, Bridge, etc.
  • Familiar with website design concepts, program editing, video technology, web conferencing and other multimedia.
