We are looking for a Genetic Counselor to join our growing team and be a part of making a difference in people’s lives.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Manages communication of abnormal results and provides telephone genetic counseling services to providers and their patients in a professional manner.
  • Assist with the development of SOPs and documentation for communication with clients and patients.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for cross-functional departments within NxGen MDx including marketing, sales, and the laboratory.
  • Applies clinical expertise to the design of new assays and corresponding educational/marketing materials when introducing new tests.
  • Maintains and improves current knowledge of complex genetic issues by attending appropriate lectures, conferences, rounds and regional/national meetings.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Masters of Science in genetic counseling.
  • American Board of Genetics Counseling (ABGC) certification.   
  • State license or ability to obtain state license for genetic counseling.   
  • Two (2) or more years of clinical practice in genetic counseling.   
  • Experience in a clinical genetics laboratory and/or prenatal or pediatric clinical setting is preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications; Familiarity with variant databases, genome browsers, and HGVS nomenclature preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team. 
  • Ability to thoroughly and accurately evaluate scientific literature.
  • Extremely strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate “technical speak” in a way that patients and providers at all levels can understand.
  • High-energy work ethic with ability to work independently, or in a team environment, while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
