The project is a highly visible project supporting a top strategic initiative for our client at DIA MSIC.  The mission is to conduct a “Big-Data” analytics data consolidation and implementation of Candor to support the strategic mission of DIA MSIC.
 
MSIC’s overall mission is to support field commanders, weapon system developers, and policy makers with scientific and technical all-source intelligence on surface-to-air missiles (SAM), short-range ballistic missiles (SRBM) with ranges less than 1000 kilometers, anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), missile defense systems, directed-energy weapons (DEW), selected space programs and systems, and relevant command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR).
 
This opportunity will provide the right candidate the ability to implement Aveshka’s Candor product into a new client area. This will provide the right candidate with opportunity to create new Candor product IP that could be used across the enterprise. They will have the opportunity to work directly with the client to create client specific interfaces to meet new and emerging client needs. This will provide the right analyst/engineer to develop a new application and new client relationship that could grow into a long term client sustained “big-data” application.


The Senior Analytics Engineer will lead the following tasks:

• The day-to day responsibility for the candidate will be to program and modify the Candor system to meet client requirements for data connection, ingestion and analytics.

• Understanding and transforming client defined requirements into actionable milestones for the software development for data analytics and data visualization applications for our client.

• Assist the client in recognizing the power of harnessing their data set to enable better decision making and situational awareness. 

• Identify Data set that may be able to be combined to give a more complete picture of the operational environment.

Required Experience:

• Experience with Big Data, Hadoop Architecture, and MapReduce. 

• Prior experience in High Availability configurations, Hadoop cluster connectivity and tuning and Hadoop security configurations.

• Experience with Mongo DB, elastic search, HTML5 and AWS.

• Strong experience in HDFS support, maintenance, backup, restore, disaster recovery, failovers management and Troubleshooting.

• Strong experience in Unix commands and scripting.

• Working Knowledge on Java development.

• Experience in Production level support for onsite and offshore teams during their development life cycle. 

• Experience in running Oozie workflow, hadoop jobs, migrating applications from development/test environments to production including customization, Network protocols and configurations is a plus

• Experience with Amazon Webservices such as EC2, DynamoDB, EBS, SWF, etc.

• Well versed in leading the installation, configuration and management of distributions of Hadoop (CD3, CDH4, Cloudera manager, MapR, Hortonworks, Hbase, Oozie, Solr, Hcatalog, Zookeeper, etc.) on Linux operating systems.

• Knowledge of cluster monitoring, Health checks, maintenance, creation and removal of nodes to include experience with systems management technologies such as Splunk, HP tools, AWS tools, etc.

Desired Experience:

• Experience implementing Big-Data applications in DIA and Classified space

• Knowledge of DIA and MSIC mission and data sets
