Duties and Responsibilities:  Under general supervision, the Customer Service Specialist receives and handles a high volume of calls ranging from general information to inquiries about suspended/revoked driver licenses and provides accurate information regarding how to reinstate a license. This position provides accurate and timely information to the general public, other agencies, courts, or businesses and ensures privacy is maintained. The Customer Service Specialist accurately enters driver record information to determine eligibility and obtains and records pertinent data for the driver record; provides accurate and specific information to drivers regarding any law, policy, or procedure impacting the driver record; and, provides high levels of customer service while handling difficult situations. The Customer Service Specialist answers and directs calls in order to respond to questions and provide assistance to all callers; uses available guidelines and maintains an accurate file of memo’s, procedures, and materials. This position is located in Conyers, Georgia

Demonstrated competencies needed to successfully perform this job include:
  • Must have the ability to organize, maintain and recall reference material.
  • Must have the ability to determine importance of references and job aids and use them to provide accurate information to callers in a timely manner.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and use of several PC applications and screens at once while speaking and typing.
  • Must have excellent oral communication skills with an emphasis on professional telephone techniques.
  • Must know and be able to use email as a communication vehicle
  • Must be able to handle a high volume of transactions in a sedentary job
  • Must have record of dependability and reliability
  • Must display a high level of effort and commitment toward performing work and demonstrate responsible behavior.

Required Skills • One (1) year at the lower level or at equivalent position


One (1) year of experience in a customer service setting communicating information, complaint and/or problem resolution to the public.


Two (2) years of college or Associate degree.
Optional Skills Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) year of experience with DDS with a broad knowledge of all driver’s license activities with emphasis on CDL- Commercial and Suspended or revoked licenses.
• One (1) year of experience handling driver’s license transactions with proficiency in the use of PC and GO screens to retrieve and enter data and experience using the Avaya phone software
• Six (6) months experience handling driver’s license customer calls in the DDS Contact Center
• Three (3) years’ experience in a high volume call center
