Description Under limited Supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for all facets of the initial and ongoing certifications requirements of driver safety school owners, providers, program directors, program instructors, and/or limousine chauffeurs throughout the State of Georgia; including, but not limited to screening customer applications for completeness and accuracy, applying state laws and agency rules to determine whether an applicant meets the statutory requirements for certification or recertification, and providing continuous support to driver safety school owners, program directors, and/or instructors throughout their terms of certification.
 
The incumbent will be responsible for responding to management and customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner, in accordance with the core values of the Department of Driver Services.
 
The incumbent will be expected to maintain a positive attitude and be receptive to change in a fast-paced environment.
 
The incumbent will be responsible for investigating customer complaints, presenting his or her finding to management, and making recommendations to management on the most appropriate course of action.
 
The incumbent will be expected to serve on task teams and workgroups.
 
The incumbent will be expected to develop strong partnerships between the Division and its internal and external business partners.
 
The incumbent will be expected to assist with training events.
Required Skills High school diploma or GED and three(3) years of prior experience interpreting and applying state laws, rules, and regulations in order to determine whether an applicant meets certain statutory requirements to hold a particular government-regulated credential, certification, or license.

OR

Associate’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of prior experience interpreting and applying state laws, rules, and regulations in order to determine whether an applicant meets certain statutory requirement to hold a particular government-regulated credential, certification, or license;

OR

One (1) year at the lower level or equivalent position (RCP011)

Skills: Incumbent must have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Incumbent must be able to assist in conducting training sessions; to inspect materials for compliance;to interpret state laws and agency rules, regulations, and guidelines; and to able to make decisions with limited supervision.
Optional Skills Preference will be given to those applicants that not only meet one or more of the minimum qualifications specified above, but also possess the preferred qualifications specified below:

• Five (5) years of prior experience interpreting and applying state laws, rules, and regulations in order to determine whether an applicant meets certain statutory requirements to hold a government-regulated credential, certification, or license; and provide technical guidance to customers that possess or seek to obtain a particular government-regulated credential, certification, or license.
