Description Career Evolutions is searching for a strong IT Project Manager with experience in transportation industry for a nationwide company headquartered in Phoenix, AZ. This is a full-time direct-hire position with compensation up to $100K DOE + an excellent benefits package.
Job Description
You will responsible for overall IT project management including coordination, status reporting and stability of project work efforts.  You will coordinate communication with all areas of the business that impacts scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort being managed.  You will also be a liason for the internal IT Staff in partnering with business leaders to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve business goals.
To perform this role successfully, you should be able to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the stated deliverables through the use of structured project management processes.  You will generate project plans, coordinate teamwork assignments, direct and monitor work efforts daily, identify resource needs, perform quality project reviews, and escalate issues appropriately. You will also track key project milestones and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet business needs.
  • Work with business and IT project teams to define scope, create accurate and inclusive estimates, develop budgets and project plans, and produce high quality project charters and other planning documentation needed for funding approvals
  • Manage and track project budgets, forecasts, and schedules to achieve project objectives and goals
  • Ensure projects in compliance with project management methodology and that accurate and timely information is collected and reported regularly on project progress and financial status
  • Achieve project goals by collaborating with stakeholders at all management levels.
  • Demonstrate skills in conflict management and negotiation to achieve project goals and develop trust with stakeholders
We are looking for an intuitive quick learner who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.
  • 10+ years of broad and continuous IT experience
  • 5+ years of technical project management experience
  • Experience working in transportation/trucking industry, preferably transportation brokerage. 
  • PMP credential strongly preferred
  • Proven track record in defining IT project plans & tracking plan to on-time completion
  • Thorough SDLC knowledge; must have supported the creation of documentation for each phase
  • Competence with Microsoft Office including Project and Visio
  • Solves problems through consensus building and effective documentation; more importantly, anticipates problems in advance and develops plans to minimize impact to the project
  • Able to proactively manage and document risks
  • Extreme detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of stakeholders
  • Effective time management
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently
