Description Capital Nephrology Associates offers a wide range of in-office services at a number of convenient office locations including Austin, Round Rock, Bastrop, Georgetown, Kyle and Lockhart. We are actively involved in the Kidney Transplant Program at North Austin Medical Center. Our Physicians are on staff at all area hospitals to offer hospital-based and emergency care for patients as needed. In addition, we provide care for renal dialysis patients at dialysis centers located in Austin, Kyle and Round Rock. 

Medical Assistant
 
As the highly qualified Medical Assistant, you will prepare charts for the patient’s office visit and ensure that all required medical information is available for the provider. You will be responsible for providing direct patient care and maintaining the flow of the office as it relates to clinic visits.  You will also be responsible for the following duties:
  • Obtain blood pressure, weight, height and pulse of patients during office visits.
  • Review medications and allergies with patients and record data as necessary in patient’s chart; notify physician when patient is ready to be seen.
  • Receive and process instructions/orders from physician.
  • Ensure patient paperwork is properly completed by physician.
  • Daily maintenance of exam rooms and bathrooms (ex. restocking supplies).
  • Travel to satellite clinics as necessary.
  • Assist physicians during procedures if necessary.
  • Order and maintain sample medications and medical supplies.
  • Monitor patient education materials.
  • Confirm appointments with patients.
  • Ensure patient records are updated prior to patient’s appointment.
  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
  • At least 1 year of work experience; 6 months of medical assistant training at a medical office/medical assistant program or CMA, NCMA or equivalent working experience in a hospital, clinic or medical office setting
  • Texas driver’s license and auto insurance meeting state minimum requirements
  • Good understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience with an electronic medical record a plus
  • Basic understanding of Word and Excel
  • Excellent phone etiquette  and communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions; analyze clinical data; and apply good judgment when interpreting information
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to respond to questions in a tactful and professional manner
  • Capacity to multi-task
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
