Utilize QA/QC principles to maintain high capacity utilization and optimize manufacturing and service operations ensuring product and service meets customer requirements.

  • Strong manufacturing/industrial background with the ability to understand drawings, and apply statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments, gauge repeatability / reproducibility and sampling techniques.
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive action initiatives
  • Ensure ISO compliance by maintaining/creating processes and documentation
  • Perform and report quality audits
  • Collect and analyze data to eliminate redundant or unnecessary processes and improve existing processes (minimize rework and scrap). Ability to identify and interpret trends in data
  • Ensure material requisitions and certifications meet requirements of material specifications
  • Finalize product inspection procedures and perform inspections when necessary
  • Ensure proper use of tool and gauging and that calibration requirements are met
  • Establish quality related training programs and techniques
  • Develop and implement Quality Notes on project procured components
  • Develop and maintain a well organized document control/archival system for project quality documents     
  • Plan for and assign third party inspection personnel for performance of supplier control inspections and audits. Coordinate supplier visits and assure adequacy and proper archival of inspection reports
  • Represents the Quality department on project teams and on the Material Review Board (MRB)
  • Reviews customer and supplier inspection and test plans to assure proper witness/hold points are injected into the plans and proper tests are detailed in the plans.
  • Review PGS bid proposals and PGS contracts for quality impact and resource           planning.
  • Primary responsibility for maintaining the NCR and PAR databases, and coordinating           the process of issuing and  closing open NCRs/PARs
  • Advises project management on correct implementation of complex Codes/standards
  • Provide direction to assigned inspection personnel
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA) in Engineering from four-year college or university (preferable); or at least six (6) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a mechanical component manufacturing environment.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of database, project management, spreadsheet, and word processing software, electronic mail, statistical software, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc.
