Summer Camp Food Supervisor
As the Camp Mira Sol Food Supervisor, you will administer and supervise the food planning, purchasing, preparation and service for the camp, ensuring that health standards are maintained in the camp dining area and kitchen. You will also serve as a member of the administrative staff with the Camp Director and/or Assistant Camp Director.
  • Oversee cookout requisitions and processes, including but not limited to assisting unit staff in menu planning and ordering cookout supplies.
  • Participate in a written evaluation of her/his work at the close of season with Camp Director.
  • Conduct performance reviews with all cooks and kitchen staff at end of season, as needed.
  • Attend all staff meetings, pre-camp training and post camp wrap-up.
  • Participate in all camp activities as assigned, sharing leadership roles and responsibilities at camp functions.

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must have current Texas Food Handler’s Card.
  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • Must be available Monday-Friday from June 3-August 16.
  • Pre-camp training is required.
  • Girl Scout experience is a plus.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Must have experience working in a commercial kitchen serving a large number of people (100+).
  • Must have experience working with commercial gas appliances.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple demands under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Commitment to Girl Scout values, including an unequivocal commitment to pluralism.
  • Must be willing to submit to background check.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours Monday-Friday.
Nonessential Skills and Experience:
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).
  • Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certified
Camp Location:
Camp Mira Sol is a day camp nestled in the Texas Hill Country on a plateau overlooking the Guadalupe River, and is located approximately 40 miles north of San Antonio.
