Sales Marketing Assistant
 
Summary:
Sales/Marketing Assistant is the station’s local sales support staff responsible for providing clerical help to local sales team.  Sales/Marketing Assistant is responsible for offering individual and collective support to account executives with sales order, traffic, copy and other basic needs. Provides marketing and production support.  Position reports directly to sales manager and works in tandem with sales staff, promotions, traffic and production.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Help account executive enter and revise orders
  • Help staff with copy changes
  • Work closely with production
  • Manage phone and mail correspondence
  • Offer support during station functions
  • Offer help with invoices , payments and other collection needs
  • Offer help in preparation of presentations and managing collateral sales materials
  • Responsible for Nielsen programming on a daily basis.  Enter programming, report off air happenings.
  • Responsible for FCC reporting and filings.  Quarterly filings, update corporate files, send updated information to Class A stations, and update and keep FCC notifications up to date
  • Responsible for entering traffic and contract for Class A stations for the FCC Children’s TV Requirements
  • Establish and execute trade agreements with clients.  Keep accurate invoices and reports with flight dates per their request
  • Responsible for sending out traffic instructions for a promotion, trade.  Enter orders into OSi system
  • Responsible for sending out traffic instructions for usage of radio trade.
  • Establish and manage media plan for UVM to take advantage of radio trade
  • Coordinate production schedule for voice over personalities
  • Create invoices and coordinate with accounting for voice over talent, etc.
  • Enter contract and distribute traffic instructions for PSA’s to air on a quarterly basis
  • Distribute graphic designer’s ads each week to all print partners.  Proof before sending
  • Distribute programming grids to TV listings every week.  Receive and distribute the CRTV titles prior making sure files appear on air
  • Assist in ordering promotional times including  requesting quotes and negotiating prices
  • Write and distribute press releases

  • Self starter, highly motivated and goal oriented
  • Computer literate, excellent knowledge of all window applications.
  • Great understanding of traffic and inventory systems a must.

Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in broadcast sales (TV, radio, or cable TV a plus).  Bilingual, English/Spanish is a plus.  Basic knowledge of Photoshop and Final Cut.
