We are looking for an RN to join our team in the Texas Fetal Center area!

Staff Registered Nurse - Cardiology

We employ you to join our team of nurses to diligently manage and coordinate our front office and see to the needs of all of our patients.
  • Triage patients,, coordinate and attend clinics, call pharmacies for medication refills, obtain lab results, schedule surgeries, and arrange for nursing care. Patient population is primarily vascular cases.
  • Prepare patients for and assist physicians with treatments and examinations.
  • Perform vitals, basic demographics and history information.
  • Set-up examin rooms, administer injections and medications as directed by physicians and maintain records.
  • Directly supervise 2 to 5 employees.
  • Receive and facilitate referrals in and outside of the network.
  • Gather all test results and clinical notes needed for physicians.
  • Contact referred patients to schedule clinic visits.
  • Notify clinic staff of visits, and diagnoses for scheduling and verifying insurance.
  • Schedule pre-testing to be done, if needed, before clinic visit.
  • After consultations, schedule surgery or procedures as necessary.
  • Instruct patients on pre-surgical appointments, necessary testing and answer any questions regarding surgery.
  • Provide surgery dates, anesthesia clinic dates, and insurance pre-authorization information for certification of surgery.
  • Assist post-op clinic patients with suture removal and occasional lab orders.
  • Fax clinic notes to patient’s primary care physician, ensure all appropriate paperwork is completed and ready prior for the day of surgery for each patient.
  • Ensure the proper ordering of all administrative and medical supplies.
  • Triage possible emergencies as they present themselves at the office and assist in said emergencies when necessary.
  • Compile and analyze reports as required.
  • Maintain compliance in JCAHO and OSHA standards.
  • Orient new staff.
  • Attend monthly meeting with Medical Directors, physicians and clinical staff to address clinical issues and concerns.

  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Knowledge of Allscripts and lDX preferred but not required.
  • Texas State Board Certified Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse. Current CPR.
