Description Principle Electronic Product Engineer

CoStaff Solutions, Inc. is actively seeking a dynamic, outgoing individual for a full time opportunity as a Resident Product Engineer in the ECU design and development arena of our client.

You will be representing our client's electronics ECU design and development team for Powertrain Development programs at the customer site covering all electronics and software aspects in the day to day communication onsite at the customer (including vehicle checks, prototype support etc).
You will be working closely with the ECU project team both here in Michigan as well as the UK.
You will assist in preparing customer specific documents (check sheets).
You will support the growth of client's portfolio with North American customer from requirements, capture and development of new systems to engineering support of existing products.
You will be working with the customers' IT systems.

The successful candidate will have both Hardward as well as Software experience in an Electro-Mechanical product line.  These products are ECU's relating to heavy vehicle's powertrain systems.

We are looking for someone who is knowledgable in C++ embedded programming as well as mechanical hardware design.  You will support our client's customer and assist in running test to evaluate and prove out product.  You will be a support arm of the software development team located in the UK.  You will be expected to travel to the UK for training approximately 2 times a year.

The candidate will have basic electronic skills that allow him/her to trace a problem, determine if it's S/W or H/W and evaluate the code to make modifications (write & compile) and follow up with the development team back in the UK.

Individual MUST have the ability to travel internationally.

Required Skills * BSEE/BSME/BSCE required.
* 3+ years of experience with automotive applications.
* Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture as it related to powertrain.
* Strong knowledge of ECU design relating to electronics, mechanics and software.
* Strong understanding of electrical requirements and tools for their development and modification.
* Strong C++ knowledge.
* Ability to travel internationally.

Optional Skills * H/W experience a plus.
* Experience with 8-,16- and 32-bit Motorola microprocessors.
* Experience with writing and editing / troubleshooting embedded code.
