Overview of Job Function:
 
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for leading specific aspects and activities of software development through testing of the our system’s software suite.  Additionally, the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for executing tests plans and processes for assigned our products.

Principle Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
  • Applies an in depth understanding of software and hardware architecture, multi-threading/processing applications, network communication as well as server side performance testing and analysis.
  • Provides knowledge of both front-end, middle-tier and back-end software technologies commonly found in larger complex enterprise software systems.
  • Adheres to using common concepts, practices, and procedures within quality assurance and can provide subject matter expertise and guidance to team members within the aforementioned field.
  • Possesses analytical and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Contributes to design reviews and draws conclusions about best testing approaches.
  • Prepares system Test Cases and contributes to others test case reviews.
  • Contributes to GUI usability.
  • Produces and uses metrics to continuously improve the process of building software and the associated artifacts.
  • Escalates urgent issues to quality assurance management.
  • Operates under minimal supervision and is capable of independent action.
  • Works with requirement management plan to ensure the quality and completeness of test cases and requirements.
  • Participates in the testing process through test execution.
  • Work with the quality assurance team lead and/or manager to plan and schedule test cycles.
  • Writes and executes user acceptance tests, compatibility tests, and/or automation scripts.
  • Reviews software documentation, such as installation guides, release notes, and other technical documentation delivered with software releases.
  • Records and verifies defects using defect tracking tool with the ability to prioritize the severity.
Minimum Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 (+) years of experience working in a product development or quality assurance environment.
  • A minimum of 3 (+) years  of experience in at least two or more of these technologies: operating system fundamentals, IP networking, client/server testing,  performance/stability/sizing testing, integration testing.
  • A 4-year college degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Solid understanding with Rational Unified Process and/or software development life cycle methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of quality assurance standards and practices.
  • Strong organizational, time management and project leadership skills.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC and a Social Security verification.
  • Successful completion of a credit check necessary for those travel-related roles that will require the candidate to obtain the appropriate credit line required to travel.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Test Experience with CTI/Telephony systems of both TDM and VoIP variants.
  • Experience in an enterprise server software environment.
