Client of Insperity (location: Houston) is looking for an energetic and self-directed Senior Engineer with a strong technical background to expand its footprint in the EagleFord Shale areas. This position will report to the JV Engineering Manager and will be responsible for the technical and economic evaluation of potential oil and gas acquisitions. It will provide the successful candidate an opportunity to be involved in the company's major investment decisions and high level of exposure to the senior management team. In addition to acquisition evaluations, the position may also assist in operations, reserve and risk management activities.

Required Skills
  • The position requires strong technical skills, particularly in the areas of reservoir engineering, oil and gas operations, and petroleum economics. 
  • High level of individual productivity and strong software skills are necessary, including applications such as Aries, Excel, Petra, Spotfire, and Access.
  • The ability to conceive and create novel ways to solve evaluation problems is highly desired. Applicants should have a strong interest in the economic aspects of the oil and gas business; an advanced business degree is a plus, but not required.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent writing and presentation skills and a strong desire to make a significant contribution to company's acquisition efforts. This candidate will be highly exposed to senior Management leadership including the CEO and COO.

Required Experience
  • A four-year engineering degree is required for this position; petroleum, chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Applicants should have at least seven years of experience in production, reservoir, reserves or acquisition engineering with emphasis reservoir characterization and field development.
