Overview: Conexess is looking for an Information Security Network Analyst professional for our client here in Dallas. This position will help administer and enforce the policies and standards of the network security infrastructure for the company. Successful candidate will have prior knowledge and hands on experience in network security, supporting next generation firewalls, IPS, VPN, Vulnerability Assessment and Management. The candidate will also serve as a backup to other critical security tools such as DLP, malware protection and SIEM. Responsibilities - Perform all required operational maintenance and troubleshooting of supported systems
- Perform on-going administration of perimeter and internal firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security monitoring tools
- Develop technical documentation, including standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Researches and assesses new threats and security alerts, and recommends remedial actions
- Report on key compliance and operational metrics for the network security infrastructure
- Work with vendors, application developers, database administrators, corporate IT, and other technology groups to resolve any problems
- Conduct routine hardware and software audits of all supported systems to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and requirements
- Periodic security assessment of firewall, router, switches, VPN, SSL concentrator, and other network component security configurations
- Maintain proper change management documentation for all hardware and software modifications
- Validation of firewall configuration and rules to maintain secure connections (internal and external)
- Provide reliable 24/7 support for numerous facilities within client's service territory
- Interface with other personnel to gather information and investigate security controls
- Report progress to supervisor and project managers, including the preparation of weekly status reports
Certifications, Skills, and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
- Proven project management and organizational skills, specifically managing multiple concurrent projects
- Competency with network security and information security concepts and technologies
- Minimum one - three years of network security operations experience preferred
- Experience with Cisco ASA is preferred
- Experience with Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls is a bonus
- CCSP - Cisco Certified Security Professional is preferred
- CISSP - ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional is a plus
- CNSE - Palo Alto Network’s Certified Network Security Engineer is a plus
