Compliance Specialist – First Covenant Bank

 

First Covenant Bank is looking for a full time Compliance Specialist to join its Compliance team out of Commerce, GA location to assist in the growing Compliance team.  Individual will be responsible for:

 

  1. Maintaining, organizing and filing up-to-date library of various regulatory pronouncements and the actual regulations.
  2. Performing internal audit at all Banking Centers at least quarterly for reporting to the Board.
  3. Recommending modifications to bank policies and procedures to achieve compliance with amended or new regulations.
  4. Performing and monitoring compliance activities throughout the bank as delegated by the Compliance Officer.
  5. Keep informed of regulatory changes and updates by reading bulletins, circulars, and other pronouncements from CFPB, OCC, Federal Reserve, FDIC, and State Regulatory agencies.
  6. Disseminating appropriate regulatory information to affected bank personnel, to include helpful guides and aids to assist in the understanding of the act and locating and sharing efficient ways to achieve compliance.
  7. Assisting in the development and maintenance of compliance programs by maintaining files, training necessary bank staff, assisting in relevant internal audits and follow-up of those audits in the following areas in particular:

 

  • Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) – Prepare annual CRA statement, self-assessment, and analysis of geographic distribution  of lending.
  • Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) – Periodic review and monitoring of compliance, collection of individual lender HMDA loan application registers, annual preparation and submission of HMDA report.
  • Reg. Z – Truth in Lending – Periodic monitoring of compliance.
  • Flood Insurance regulations – Monitor compliance.
  • Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) – Emphasize disclosure and documentation requirements.
  • Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) – Emphasize retention and review of credit denial notices.
  • Fair Credit Reporting Act
  • Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
  • Credit Practices Rule
  • Right to Financial Privacy Act
  • Bank Secrecy Act (Be familiar with requirements of BSA and assist BSA Officer.)
  • Expedited Funds Availability Act (Reg. CC)
  • Electronic Funds Transfer Act (Reg. E)
  • Insider Transactions (Reg. O)
  • Interbank Liabilities (Reg. F)
  • Advertising regulations
  • Truth in Savings Act (Reg. DD) – Develop required policies and procedures, ensure needed software changes are made and development of disclosures needed for account terms.
  • Reg. Q & D – Interest on deposits and reserve requirements.
  • Reg. AA – Credit Practices Rule
  • Fair Housing Act / Fair Housing Regulations
  • State Usury laws
  • Advertising (Q, Z, FDIC)
  • Financial Institutions Regulatory and Interest Rate Control Act
  • Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act
