Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Directs & coordinates all production activities within the plant.
  • Manages the manufacturing/production department along with other department heads to maintain and drive the strategic vision of the company.
  • Responsible for production planning & scheduling, handles day to day operations while overseeing the weekly production run.
  • Ensures plant products are completed on schedule and within Safety & Quality Food Regulatory Standards and Compliance. As well as plant safety, & audits. 
  • Works with suppliers & vendors to order raw materials.
  • Aware of budget and cost – while still ensuring quality.
  • Responsible for coordinating with operations to ensure production & distribution of products is consistent in quality and efficiency.
  • Responsible for labor, equipment, and ingredients being utilized properly.
  • Maintains communication with sales & operations to ensure that orders are completed.
  • Trains/develops direct reports.
  • Works with direct reports to ensure that their direct reports are being properly trained as well, and continuously improving.

Required Knowledge/Experience/Skills (including but not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred OR equivalent dairy experience
  • Must have 5-10+ years of experience in a plant management role in a dairy manufacturing facility.
  • 5+ years of ice cream manufacturing experience is required
  • Knowledge of Consumer Packaged Goods production equipment.
  • Previous experience leading 50+ employees from all different functions in the plant.
  • Strong understanding of Consumer Packaged Goods production standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, and producing limited shelf life products.
  • A proven background in staff development & training.
  • Must have past experience dealing with facility budgets & cost control.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office.
  • Positive can do attitude.
