We are looking for a high energy Software Engineer that will work to build the next generation of tools to take our company to the next level. Responsibilities:- Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for our thousands of users
- Develop features, enhancements and new products to support our systems
- Perform bug fixes and support for legacy systems
- Research new technology and best practices to maintain Wort Institute’s completive edge
Key Skills:- 3+ years developing web applications utilizing C#, ASP.NET, MVC, jQuery, JavaScript, CSS, HTML
- 3+ years hands on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL
- Experience with Entity Framework or other ORM technologies
- Experience with REST based API development with XML/JSON
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly-iterative and collaborative environment
- Expertise writing stored procedures, functions, batch queries, transactional queries, dynamic queries and automation
- Performance troubleshooting of applications, databases, servers, hardware and networks
Abilities:- Ability to work with peers in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Strong ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
- Strong listening, detail-oriented thinking, and creative problem solving skills
- Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience creating technical documentation
- Willingness to assist in training and mentoring less experienced peers
- Experience contributing to internal process improvement
- Experience working with a product development team
